MIA

After being MIA in Auckland University for the past 3 weeks I am finally back in the Land of the Long White Cloud and ready to tackle whatever my lectures throw at me!

Japan

The reason I was MIA for 3 weeks was because I was on a Working Holiday in Japan! As luck would have it, the Ski Resort in Japan refused to let me finish early so I ended up coming back to New Zealand on the 3rd week of uni! Imagine missing out on 3 weeks of uni!! It's terrible... I have so much to catch up on and I have mid-semester tests next week that I have no idea on what to study!
But apart from that I totally had a blast working in a Ski Resort in Japan and I had so much fun and met so many different people! I also learned how to snowboard and by the end of the 3 months I was able to do tricks like ollies, jumps and riding switch!
However, I don't know if my Japanese has gotten any better but I know my snowboarding skills have definitely gotten better. It has been such a great experience and adventure that I think I'm ready to go and do it again! and again! and possibly again!

COMPSCI 111

I'm in my last year of uni and I wonder why I didn't take CompSci 111 in my first year? Doing lab reports has been so practical and helpful that I wonder how I managed to get through first year without having the knowledge!
Since coming back I have manged to catch up on most of my course readings and read all the lecture notes and with every page I read, I understand a little bit more about computers and how it works. I really am impressed with the contents of this course and everything is so well organized on the CompSci web-page that it makes it easy to do extra readings and have notes ready for the next lecture!
Totally recommend it to anyone who's thinking of taking CompSci! JUST DO IT!!

Souvenirs

The fact that I sent a 7kg box from Japan containing only souvenirs I think it's appropriate I list them all out!

  1. 30 packets of different flavored gum
  2. 3 famous Sake bottles
  3. 2 Japanese style pot set
  4. Large amounts of delicious Japanese snack food
  5. 1 traditional wall hanging
  6. 4 pairs of bamboo made chopsticks
  7. 5 handkerchiefs
