Ideas For "Walking Shoes"

A time-based art installation

Walking Up The Wall 1

The idea is that we see a pair of shoes (in profile) walking up the wall. The camera stays level with the shoes so they remain in central frame.

Shooting

  1. Shoot with camera mounted on a low dolley
  2. Frame and track feet walking at consistent speed
  3. Shoes and trousers need to be black or at least dark
  4. Background should be light and some distance away

Editing & Displaying

  1. Rotate the image 90 degrees in Final Cut (so walking is "up" the wall)
  2. The projection wall needs to be clear of other work
  3. There must be enough room to mount a projector
  4. Control of ambient light is important

Sudoku Tips

This game is good mental exercise. Please add your tips and techniques to this page

  1. The process of completing a Sudoku square is about sorting what numbers "have" to go in a certain square vrs those that "cannot" go there - ie a process of elimination.
  2. If it gets tough put numbers on the outer edge of the main square indicating numbers that "must" be in a line adjacent. Some times you will have the numbers but not exact positions but this assists with the process of elimination.
