Cyberspace - Stage One WikiThe word "cyberspace" was coined by science-fiction writer William Gibson. The term was originally intended as a metaphor for virtual reality, but this more specific definition has fallen out of use and "cyberspace" has now become synonymous with related terms such as Internet and World Wide Web. As an example of its use as a synonym, anything said to exist either on the Internet or the World Wide Web can also be said to exist in Cyberspace. The opposing space to Cyberspace is Meatspace. |
