Printer Chargers - Stage One WikiFor each lab, students are expected to submit hard copies of their Lab Report. This presents the dilemma or having to print out 2-5 pages each week. Each page costs $0.10 to print, which can quickly build up to $1 in just 2 weeks. As a student myself, I am aware that being a student is not cheap. Each week there are many costs needing a strict budget. Printing out so many pages is cutting into the budget. What's more, this is a waste of finite resources. I suggest an online submission, as is available for other computer science courses. Especially as we are expected to type everything up in the first place. If you are feeling the burn on your Net Account, you may need to find some place to top up your card. This can be done in the Kate Edger Student Commons, in the lowest Commons behind the quick computers, or in the at the Help Desk in the Information area diagonal from Munchy Mart and next to the computer commons on that floor. Using your student ID and your eftpos card, this is a simple transaction which only damages your bank account. However, please be aware that your printing quota and photocopy quota are separate and that this transaction will only add credit to your photocopy quota. To move some or all of the credit to your printing quota you will need to do an online transfer. The Help Desk mentioned above has printed instructions on how to do this, otherwise you can follow this link Science Faculty Computer Labs and click on the Transfer Quotas link under Quick Help in the left hand menu. Also be aware that the default color of print in the Computer Science labs might be color, so just remeber to change it from color to black and white. It will save you lots of money. And don't forget to turn off double sided printing in your print setting. It's located under the Finishing tab in printing Properties. Turn the Print on Both Sides to Off. |
