Rangimakehu Hall

General Information

My name is Rangimakehu Hall. I am 27 years old and am currently in my 3rd year of study towards a Bachelor of Music: Classical Performance Majoring in French Horn.

Interests

Music

I am a passionate horn student who loves music and my instrument. In my career I have been fortunate enough to learn from many great teachers and appear in numerous orchestras and bands. I am the current principal horn for the University of Auckland Concert Band and right now I am the most senior horn student in the country.

Auckland Youth Orchestra

New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds

Current Principal Horn Positions

University of Auckland Symphony Orchestra 

This is the University's Symphony Orchestra made up of Classical Performance students from the School of Music.

Univwersity of Auckland Concert Band 

this is the University's only concert band. This band performs regularly and competes annually at the NZCBA National Festival where it has been a Gold award band for some years.

Computing and Business

BMus is my second degree as I already have a Business Management degree and two National Certificates in Business Administration. I enjoy spending time with my very large family, I am the youngest of seven children.

Food and Cooking

I love food and cooking. Food is one of my passions. Nothing brings people together like a meal and food is most loved when enjoyed with others. I am an adventurous cook who enjoys trying to cook new things. Sometimes its a massive flop. Sometimes, a huge success.
